La Dolce Vita Trattoria - Huntsville

While walking to another restaurant in town, we noticed La Dolce Vita Trattoria was open, the patio had tables available and we'd always wanted to try it.

Love this restaurant...unfortunately they close for the winter....best Italian food in Muskoka...great wine list plus amazing choices of main dishes...very friendly staff...beautiful outdoor patio ..cant wait for their spring opening.

We were glad to get off the main strip and away form the noise of the crowded waterfront restaurants. This place is quiet and relaxing. Lots to take in with the antiques around you as well.Service was great and pretty quick. Food was very good-- spaghetti and meatballs was very tasty, and eggplant veal special was very good. Nice menu selection-- food and drinks. Portions could be a bit larger for the price, but it's Huntsville and not fast food, so that's how it is. On the practical side, they are open later than a lot of other local spots, which makes it a convenient option. Worth a visit.

We have dined here for the past 8 years in the summer. Unfortunately, the last couple of years the quality of food has gone down and the prices up!!!. Tonight, iced the cake. We come just for the Grilled Calamari appetizer and we ordered two. The waitress came back to tell us they only had one order left since they were busy last night. REALLY!! We were not impressed, so she offered nothing to make up for this big disappointment. So we ended up ordering a Caesar salad. We asked for more bread and she told us it would be $2.00. We couldn't believe it after not having the item on the menu that we came for. THe calamari is better than any of the pasta dishes. So we will never come back. We will go to the other top restaurant in Huntsville. Go to Spencers Tall Trees. You will always get a great chef's meal for a reasonable price. La Dolce Vita Trattoria has gotten too pricey for below average food and then they do nothing to makeup for the shortfall. We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. Definitely, a bad decision on the waitress's part. The owner needs to think of the customers he is serving, not his interest only. This experience will not be forgotten! Good luck!

Summer is the best time as you can be outdoors while barbecuing. I loved their pasta dishes,service and location. It is an easy walk to the Algonquin Theatre.
