Trejo's Mexican Food - Huntington Beach

I was craving Mexican food and decided to try some new places I had never been to before. I stumbled upon this small restaurant on Beach Boulevard that is easy to miss if you're not paying attention. While I don't believe this place is affiliated with Danny Trejo's taco chain, the food was still quite tasty. However, I found the price of $5+ for a single taco to be a bit steep, so I may return for the $1.50 street tacos on Fridays and Saturdays. Disappointed with the taco prices, I opted for a birria burrito, which was delicious, hot, fresh, and made with tender meat. The restaurant has an authentic feel, although their decision to sell birria ramen is a bit questionable. Overall, we received good service and the establishment was very clean and pleasant.

I tried the Cicerone burrito and a Cicerone taco, and both were incredible! These are definitely the best Cicerone tacos in Orange County. I appreciate that the seasoning is light, perfect for those who prefer less salt. It's great for those who enjoy mild seasoning or light salt. Absolutely delicious!

We ordered 4 tacos, a taco combo, and a mulita. The handmade tortillas were a nice touch and had good flavor, but the quality of the meat was not great. We tried asada, carnitas, pastor, lengua, and chorizo. The asada was tough and chewy, pastor, carnitas, and chorizo were overly salty, and the lengua was crispy and flavorless. The standout item for me was the horchata. Honestly, I would not recommend this place to my friends or family.

I always have an amazing dining experience at this restaurant. The prices are very reasonable, all the employees wear masks, and everything is very clean. I highly recommend this place. This is my second time here and the food is always fresh. I have never had a bad experience. They truly enjoy what they do. I give it a 10 out of 10.
