Bidra med feedbackHaven't been here in a decade, but visiting and had to stop. The sushi chef is one of the best and they serve items hard to find elsewhere like Chawanmushi.
My FAVORITE location to get sushi on the west side of Houston. Super authentic and unbelievable. Don't come here if you like Americanized -sushi, this place is much better than that. Today I found out the cook was there since 1981... I was 8 years old. My mind is broken. I haven't even been an ankle in my dad's eye yet, but somehow I knew I'd eat here one day. You always remember what I want to drink, eat and bring my dessert before I ask. Come here! Or you'll probably regret it.
Every once in a while, you discover a place that presents a cuisine totally different than the rest. Sasaki is that place for me. We’ve been conditioned in Houston to expect thin slivers of sushi quality fish on a bed of rice or, cool sounding rolls with all manner of spicy/savory drizzles. I like all types of sushi, but Sasaki isn’t about the elaborate. They present the seafood as the main attraction. Huge slices, no embellishments. Nothing fancy. Perfect. Please don’t go to Sasaki expecting what we as Houstonians typically expect. It’s surprising and in a delightful way. Sasaki is my favorite and for good reason!
Great establishment. I’ve spent some time in Shinjuku Japan and this place checks out for authenticity. The sushi terrific. If you’re looking for a taste of authentic Japan, here is your place. (The itamae does not drink Saki)
I had a fantastic experience with the friendly service and an excellent sushi chef. I absolutely loved it!
