La Griglia - Houston

First time dining in at this restaurant. We dined with another couple and had a very good experience. Although we had reservations for a later time, we arrived early and were accommodated with a table within 5 minutes. Wait staff was very attentive and responsive to our needs; our head waiter, Alexander, made sure we were taken care of. We each tried different entrees braised short ribs, salmon, seafood di mare, rigatoni. My favorite was the seafood di mare the sauce was excellent. Dessert was also very good the key lime pie was the best I've had; Creme brule was prepared differently than we've seen before it was just OK.

Houston has a new restaurant open weekly so there are many choices. We decided to hit up an old tried and true with family who was visiting. It was even better than I remembered! We had Alexander wait on us and he didn’t miss a beat. Super attentive and anticipated everything we needed. The food exceeded expectations as well!. So glad we went old school!

Love Love Love this place. We always feel welcome and taken care of! Tonight we had Alexander, as our sever, and he went above and beyond with his service and attention to detail. Fantastic place! Dinner or lunch! ?

We had for a second time, Alexander Anderson, as our waiter. He was attentive, entertaining, and just a pleasant person to talk with. We hit it off because we all love history, and the theater, especially the Houston theater. Our food was amazing and served promptly. The location is great; however, Alexander told us that the restaurant was moving in November. We were thrilled to learn they are moving to West Dallas where Nino's and Vincent's used to be. Those buildings date back to the 1930's and in the 1960's there used to be a biker bar run there. This will make our experience of La Grigilia even better as I have gone to Vincent's since the 1980's.

Excellent wait staff, especially Alexander our waiter. Food wine selections were enjoyed by all! Restaurant decor lively, and fun to be able to see kitchen activity.
