Jackson Street Barbecue - Houston

I think it's time to update my review from almost 7 years ago. I dined here a couple of weeks ago for lunch and had another pleasant experience. This bbq restaurant has been around just a little longer than that and serves some of the better bbq in Houston. I don't think it gets the love it deserves perhaps due to its downtown location and being right next to the Juice Box (Minute Maid Park). The restaurant does have its own free parking area located on the side of the building opposite of the ballpark. Inside you are greeted by their large menu board and its counter service, of course. The interior reminds me of a Texas dance hall with plenty of room to stretch out and relax while enjoying their meal. I usually get their brisket or chicken meals along with a side dish or two. Their baked beans are very good with plenty of content including onions and some brisket to boot! The potato salad is mustard based and served cold. The brisket always has nice bark on it and is juicy and flavorful. Their bone in 1/2 chicken is one of the better ones in Houston. Prices are comparable with the other top tier bbq restaurants in town and the counter service has always been friendly. I like Jackson Street BBQ and always consider eating here when I am in the area. Houston's BBQ game has improved greatly since this restaurant first opened and this place is still in the running among its peers.

Food was fantastic. Cream corn was the best thing I ate there. The owners are so nice and every staff member was so friendly. Great atmosphere, very open seating. We liked it a lot.

If you’re looking for good bbq in Houston. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! It must be location because I didn’t find any reason to ever revisit!

Oh My Goshawk!!!! The food here is so dang good!!!! I will be back with the family!!! Not my places I've been with the ribs and brisket is so tender other than my family bbq! I wish I could give more than 5stars

Hands down best barbecue I've ever had. The food was delicious, the people were so kind and welcoming and it was a good price, definitely will be going back!
