Bidra med feedbackAs good as we remember it from a very joyful dinner some 15 years ago. The wine list is the best in Houston, the baguette is delicious and the traditional brasserie menu is perfect.
My Wife and I had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Rabelais last night. We shared a Salade Chèvre Chaud as well as the Cepes with lardons and a Poached egg. Both were fabulous. We each had the Snapper special which was grilled snapper fillet on mashed potatoes with asparagus and a port wine sauce. Delicious! Dessert was a wine poached Anjou per with chocolate sauce, ice cream and Chantilly cream. After my wife sampled it, I finished it! I drank a nice Cote du Beaune Burgundy while she had a French Sauvignon Blanc. All in all a great experience.
Top notch French provincial cuisine. I’ve been to France and this is what the food is like, especially in places off the beaten path.
It had been a while since our last visit. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the food, the wine and the service. The stuffed quail, alone, was excellent and worthy of a return visit.
I had fish (sole) and it was dry and flavorless. My husband and friend had snapper and it was very good, but the size was like a child’s portion. The first time I have been and wasn’t satisfied. Before I would give it a 4.5-5.0. This time I can’t even give it a four. The waitress was sub-par and acted like we were a burden to service. I would still recommend, hoping this is a one-off.
