Mikey's Grill - Hoover

A friend took me here while I was visiting. I live near philly and this was some of the freshest and most delicious seafood ive had in a while. The staff was super friendly too. I had a snapper dish that was out of this world. And the crab cakes were better than what i get in Maryland.

Overrated, a lot of the reviews rate the place to high. first of the atmosphere/environment, it is a good looking place on the inside but there was a smell almost like bleach or ammonia which ruined the atmosphere. second the food, the food was some of the worst i have had. i got the sautéed snapper which came with the house salad. the house salad was a pile of lettuce with two cherry tomatoes, two slices of cucumber, and two slices of onion. this is not much of a salad if you ask me it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t much. now on to the main course the sautéed snapper this was very bland and caked in breading and a sweet butter that made it taste like some kind of butter pecan ice cream. lastly the service, overall the service was nice but i didn’t make up for the food in my opinion. overall didn’t like anything i do not recommend but i must say the people working there are very kind.

We were out of town and found this place. Great people, great food. Food is kinda expensive but worth it. Best steak I have had in awhile and cooked how I ordered it. Highly recommend.

Nice seafood place on this side of town. The dinner menu is limited to seafood because that is what they specialize in. Lunch menu does have burgers and chicken. They also have Irish coffee, Italian coffee, and Mexican coffee.
