The Grill At Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

I was so terribly disappointed in the service we received at what is supposed to be one of the best hotels in HK. The staff were so reluctant to help (possibly because at least half did not understand English) when I first asked to move to a table with a fan (in 31 degrees). We were not hotel guests so we may have been the only people not using the pool! A fan is the only way to stave off the heat when you're outdoors. Then the waiters kept getting our drink orders wrong and there was a whole frustrating back and forth where not one, not two but four different waiters were called before the issue could be sorted. The food was average and in no way made up for the terrible service. The saving grace was Augusto, the only waiter who seemed to care what we wanted and got the job done. Without him, this review would easily have only one star.

The grill is fabulous good choice of food , the meat and seafood particularly high quality . It’s not as busy as it once was . Last few times we have been half empty . The service around the pool is a different story . Staff used to give out menus and did a brisk trade in food and drinks . Now there’s a qr code dangling from some chairs . Hardly anyone seems to order . The lunchtime pool closure and bands system doesn’t help either . Pool half empty but still folks getting thrown out while the pool is ‘ cleaned ‘ at lunchtime , potentially the busiest time for the pool and food orders . It’s a shame as Hyatt food really is lovely . Missed opportunity here !

The dinner BBQ buffet was of low quality in comparison to the hotel grade and pricing. Little variety and some dishes were bad. The only thing that was really good was the lamb. What's worse was that the pool was under maintenance, so we were seated beside an empty and barricaded poor, which we were neither given notice about on the website when booking for the staycation package nor when reserving the buffet dinner.

Having buffet dinner at the grill tonight and don’t know which part section of contaminated food, I visit the toilet for the whole night

I loved a little quiet lunch outside. Eat is good. iced caffe latte was super foamy and light.
