Gough's On Gough - Hong Kong

Came there to drink coffee and accidentally found one of the best cocktails in the city. the atmosphere and the design of the place is amazing. you are treated like a king, no less. the bartender was really nice and helpful, did his best to make us feel like home and make us the best cocktail for us. the atmosphere is relaxing and they can spend a whole evening there without notice.

The restaurant is decorated beautifully and you would need to walk up through a very classic stairs to get to the dinning area. Food were nicely presented, although portion were relatively small.

My rating is based on the lunch set and not dinner. The ambience and service is great so if you are looking for a good place for a date night this is a great place. This aspect of the restaurant is 5 stars. Since I’m more oriented towards the food My rating is more based on my enjoyment of the meal. The Saturday brunch comes as a set with chilled seafood platter, app, main and dessert. The seafood was pretty fresh and quite satisfying. Tomato and cheese appetizer was tasty. The main was pretty plain and if this was better would give a higher score. The dessert is the highlight of the meal and I would come back for drinks and dessert. If the price for the set was lower I would give a higher rating, but given the price my expectations are higher than an average meal.

Came here about a year ago for lunch and the dining experience was absolutely fantastic! Came across the Restaurant Week promotion and decided to come back with my wife but it was disappointing. Food that we've ordered were either too salty or overcooked. The only dish that tasted as it should was the lemon tart but I'm convinced that I won't be returning.

It’s pretty and the food is good but we’re not sure we would return as there are extremely similar places in HK with similar quality and vibe but at more reasonable cost and more importantly, much better service. Service was not poor but when you market and price yourself higher, you should expect service and quality to match. Unfortunately there’s slight element of name over substance and a lack of attentiveness and accommodating service which ended up leaving a sour taste and tainting a perfectly good evening.
