Chan Darae - Hollywood

Breaking it down, Chan Darae still has got good solid Thai cooking. It’s not too far from the Arclight. It has a small bar, just good enough to hang out and wait for your table. There’s a TV showing whatever game’s important. In all other respects, Chan Dara is a good turn and burn operation. They get you in, get you fed…and then don’t worry so much about when you leave. It’s one of the better restaurants to have a conversation in.

GREAT food, great atmosphere. Cool photos of celebrities with the family staff on the walls and it was appropriate and touching that they had David Bowie music playing the day after his passing (and they have a really neat photo of Bowie and Jagger with the staff neat the bar). I was a tourist but if I find myself in Hollywood again this will be on my short list of restaurants to dine.

Excellent food here. Best Thai I've had in town. Their Kung Pau chicken Sriracha dish was great as was everything else. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was clean and inviting.

The location is a bit unassuming, but the food is fantastic, especially the Pad Thai.
