Birdies West Hollywood

I really hate leaving bad reviews, but I just can't get over this experience. I want to start off by saying there service was fantastic, the employees at the counter were super friendly and helpful. Nothing bad to say about them whatsoever. Moving onto the food itself. I ordered a chicken sandwich and 3 tenders. The quality of the chicken used here is extremely, extremely poor. The chicken has an intense rubbery, fleshy, stringy feel. And when you pull it apart the chicken isn't moist, it's glossy and rubbery. This only happens with very cheap, low quality chicken. I know from having worked in food service. The chicken was completely inedible. It was like biting into cartilage with every bite. I threw it all away. The blueberry donuts I also got were sopped in grease, with incredibly disgusting artificial blueberry topping. I legitimately have had a better blueberry donut from Dunkin. The price tag for what turned out to be actual garbage was over 40 dollars. I am beyond disappointed.

Honestly I have a love/hate relationship with this spot cus it's legit a walking distance from my place so whenever I'm craving something fat (and probably unhealthy) I just shimmy my way to this place to stuff my face with great fried food. I like to make myself believe that my walk makes up for it but I'm sure I just burned one fry from that whole walk lmao. Def #noragrets tho lol The food is pretty FIRE. If you want some no nonsense straight to the point good fried chicken, you can count on this spot. My go to are the Birdies Bites which comes with 9 cute nuggets and crispy fries. The nuggets are juicy and thick enough and the fries are classic. They also have Birdies Tenders that comes with 3 huge tenders (but no fries tho womp womp). I also tried their Nashville Hot Chicken and you can pick either HOT/HOT or MILD. Let me tell you this thing is HUGE... probably like 5 McChickens combined lol The HOT/HOT wasn't too spicy tbh so I'd say go with that if you can handle the heat. 5 stars solely for the food and the workers. The workers are always so nice and sweet. They're all just inviting and polite lol I haven't dined in yet and I'm sure my rating would change cus the inside is a bit stuffy and the outside seating has a lot of different characters from time to time lol to spice things up I guess lmao but yah GO AND TRY THIS PLACE OUT!
