Walter's Basin - Holderness

I was at Walter's Basin on Monday evening for dinner, on January 1 with friends. I ordered the chicken marsala, which was fabulous! The chicken was made perfect - slim and damp - and the sauce was also delicious. It was a generous portion and I could only eat half of it and bring the rest home. I heated it to lunch today, and it was as good as Monday. I've never had a bad meal. Once I had lubricated the short ribs with potatoes - another excellent meal. I stay with a local B

That was my second time in Walter's Basin. We were a party of 7 and all were very satisfied with the entire experience. The food was amazing, fresh, perfectly prepared and the variety on the menu was wide with something for everyone. From the French fries over seafood, salads, burgers and Mac and cheese it was great. The drinks were also worth the money and not watered like many restaurants. The waiting staff was pleasant and attentive. The best part is that you eat your meal while on the beautiful squam lake through the huge row of windows in the dinning room. We saw our first season. This has moved to the top of our list of favorite restaurants and we even have to drive over an hour to get there.
