Bidra med feedbackWe went there for a birthday out in the back area they used for the function room. It drinks were good and the bar staff were friendly. Didn’t go much on the cocktail finger food though. But that could just be me being picky as the people who I was with were happy with the food. Will certainly go back again for drinks.
Stayed in the hotel with my partner for 4 nights. The good: The location is great, there are heaps of bars and restaurants within walking distance, the stone walls and exposed ceiling beams are really cool and unique, the bed is comfortable, linen and towels were good, we couldn 't hear any noise from the pub while in the room. The bad: TV is outdated and small, no smart TV in a 4 star hotel in 2022 doesn 't seem right to me. Lighting is a little dim in certain areas of the room, water pressure of the shower was bad, only 1 roll of toilet paper provided for 2 people on a 4 night stay. The soundproofing between floors of the apartment isn 't good, constantly sounded like people were stomping around upstairs. Overall it was a decent stay, but I don 't think it 's worth the asking price in its current state to be honest.
We stayed in a room with no view...in fact there was a dead bird outside our window! The room was nice and the stone walls were unique. Bath was superb. The whole place needs a bit of love including the carpet, light fixtures and cleaning the windows. The location though is tops. You can't get any closer to Salamanca if you tried. Great eateries on your door step and as a quick weekend jaunt in Hobart we couldn't complain. Beds comfy.
Avoid the gnocchi! It’s served in a weird soup of vinegar and gravy, it’s hard to imagine anyone with functioning taste buds could enjoy it. Apart from that, the flatbread was good and the lamb ragout was ok. Drinks are way overpriced, unless you like Great Northern expect to pay $12 for a schooner and $15 for a small glass of wine.
The photos on the website looked beautiful and I suspect at one stage this was indeed a beautiful hotel. It is in a great location and the limestone is beautiful. However, it has fallen into a state of disrepair and for what seems to be classed as a 4 star hotel was devastatingly disappointing for our honeymoon. The carpet had deteriorated in many areas and the sideboard/TV cabinet (against which the bed was pushed up on one side, meaning to get off i had to crawl to the end) was so deteriorated you could see the screwheads poking through (see photos). The high rafters were beautiful but covered in dust or cobwebs- i was sneezing so much we got a PCR test! The one light in the bathroom bright enough to do my makeup had to be turned off every 5 minutes as it started to flicker. The furniture was old, faded and in disrepair- none of the beautiful leather in some photos. And we had the ugliest view- but i recognize that's just luck of the draw in any hotel. We have never felt so deceived by clever marketing and were so close to forfeiting our money to stay somewhere else but decided to simply minimize our time in the room. We were so glad to leave and check in to the beautiful Tasman Hotel!
