Bidra med feedbackNext, I really tried to try betsey....The diners sit on one side of the table while the staff on the other side goes on business about their tasks. I liked that, it made me like a part of the process I suspect. the menu is a bit too small for my lust, but I guess something has to be compromised with such a small room. After I said that, I quickly decided on something I liked. beef, beef, beef, beef and veal
Really enjoyed the food - abalone and lamb were delicious. Mid week in mid winter was quiet in Hobart but the vibe at Franklin was good.
Went for a business group dinner and the food was good. Service was excellent, no complaints with that. The food is not for everyone but if you are after something fresh and new, this will be a place to try.
Had an enjoyable evening here. The food is impressive with a couple of exceptions. We had the "feed me" option & there were some real highlights, the abalone & lardo, beef with strawberry reduction & the octopus however 2 dishes disappointed; the chicken parfait, which is always outdated whenever it's revived, & a jumbled up polenta & saltbush wasted the truffle. Still top marks for having Fever Tree tonic & a very good wine list.
Extremely disappointed with the night, there's nothing worse than a really bad start as it spoils the whole night and the drinks was the start of it, took forever to get our first drinks, Jane ordered a vodka lime and lemonade but they didn't have any lime so it was a slice of lemon instead, after I finished my beer she didn't ask if I'd like another one, as Emma pointed out they tried to fill us up on water. We sat down at 6.55 and wasn't till 6.50 before we even got some bread, there where a different flavours but nothing that special really, the piece of broccoli was really nice and the leek was very different but I liked it, the stripey trumpeter was a big let down, the beef was okay with the puree on the side a high light. Those wafers were a bit of an after thought to me being so delicate and nothing in flavour, I'm probably missing the point on that one but everything has to work together in my opinion, it was like we were in the back room and forgotten about, you'd think after giving at least 6 weeks notice they would've prepped better, we didn't even get a thank you as we left and I wasn't giving one. 2 out of 10 Franklin
