Fast and friendly service. There was a little bit too much rice for the nigiris but overall sushi is decent and fresh. Our server was very accommodating to our needs. They also give you a wet towel at the end of your meal.
Crowded at night Everything’s ok Update: Moved to 179 Hai ba Trung st, district 1st, HCM city.
The Sushi Bar has many restaurants throughout Vietnam. They used to have this authentic Japanese feel whenever you ate at any of their restaurants. But Since the opening of many other very well-kept sushi restaurants, (Sushi Hokkaido, Sushi Uraetei, etc. it’s lost all of that charm. This is the type of sushi place you go to when you’re tired of walking or don’t want to deal with the hassle of waiting too long for food or large amounts of people. I find that the quality of food has been reduced drastically since the opening of other sushi places. This sushi bar is in district one, near my dentist. I had salmon sashimi, fatty tuna sashimi, miso soup, chawan mushi (egg pudding thing , clam sushi, ebi (shrimp sushi, and spicy salmon sushi. My dad had all of this with me and some avocado sashimi (avocado slices . I found myself eating a few pieces of plastic, most likely from the packaging of the fish. Tonight the cuts of salmon sashimi were very generous but the sashimi slices always had some residue of other foods cut on the cutting board. The chefs put a lot of care into their cooking which was reassuring. The fatty tuna was not good. It was chewy, stringy, and not fresh. The clams were good with their sweet molasses-like sauce but they were grainy which I didn’t like. The miso was a bit watery but okay. The avocado slices were fine, i’m no Gordon Ramsay but it’s not rocket science to put some of those on a plate. The chawan mushi was a little bland but fine. The ebi sushi was quite good. They always make that well. The best thing out of everything was the spicy salmon. It was just the right amount of salmon on top of the rice with just the right amount of rice and just the right amount of the chili mixture thing. It was spicy enough to last for a bit. Nothing to set your face on fire. So all in all. Come eat here. Why not? It wasn’t the worst in the world but it was just... questionable. Also it’s a bit pricey, even without alcohol. 3/5
There was hair in the sushi. I was going to puke. The seafood was not fresh. Fish eggs were too salty. The worst dish ever I got at this branch. The sushi on Ton Duc Thang branch (now it is closed) is better than here. Staff are noisy. Hard to get their attention to order or get the bill.
