Bidra med feedbackAttended a wedding here on Friday and everything from the organisation to the attitude of the staff was excellent. They pulled out every stop to make our friend’s wedding special.
I booked “the library” for an early evening meal with several children. It was fab! Food was delicious, slick service and enthusiasm towards the kids. They were even able to feed the fish in the fish tank. A really enjoyable experience I will definitely come again.
Booked the Royal Arms mainly for the fact they offer a Gluten Free Sunday roast dinner. I was bitterly disappointed when my food arrived to see a small stack of meat, around 3 small potatoes and a small pot of gravy… NO Yorkshire pudding, NO crackling and barely enough veg to feed a child in a small bowl… I don’t eat cauliflower cheese but wasn’t asked if I’d prefer another veg option. If they offer a GF dinner it needs to be a full dinner not half portions but for the full amount of £18:50! Other diners seemed to have what can only be described as meat platters filled with gigantic Sunday dinners! I left feeling hungry and disappointed and not happy being sat next to the toilet door. Won’t re-book or recommend. Waitress staff were nice and friendly but maybe because they were under the watchful eye of the owner/manager who oddly seems the only person who can take payment of the bill…
Very average, nice girls serving us, the beer I ordered was really poor definitely off, tasted awful and I changed for a bottle of beer so safe there, I ordered fish chips which I believe was £14.50 very expensive very very small piece of fish, had so much better at the local chip shop in Melton. 6 of us and a bill for £214, very expensive for what it is should have been more like £100 and even at that I wouldn’t go back … Sutton Cheney such a nice place, this place COULD be wonderful but the owner needs to be much friendlier, and the food needs to be bigger portions and much less cheaper …
Confused. Are you a wedding venue, a local pub or a fine dining restaurant? Beautiful food served with paper napkins. Expensive wine served in heavy bar style wine glasses? Outdoor furniture designed for wedding guests, with no cushions. Lovely room but dated, miss matched furniture and scuffed paintwork. (The shower cubicle definitely doesn’t feature in any of your new glossy brochures, or your lovely website! You need to decide what you are. Unfortunately you will always be remembered by us as “the restaurant that served me 3 halves of new potatoes”
