808 Sweet Shack - Hilo

So glad I found this little gem. The cookies we got were just delicious. One of my son's got the Ube cookie, the other one got lava cake and I got me a cowboy cookie. Thee is a cool story behind that one, and the owner Amy will share it with you if you ask her. She super nice and sweet by the way. Can't wait to see what she can once she has all her baking equipment! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

We happened to be in Volcano for my brother 's 60th birthday and searched for a bakery where we could order a nice cake as a surprise. Oh my gosh! 808 Sweet Shack was such a wonderful find. The birthday guy is a fan of chocolate, so the Chocolate Decadence cake was an easy choice. My only concern was whether an 8 cake could serve 13 people. I called the bakery and spoke with Amy, the owner, who assured me the 8 would provide generous portions. She was right. Everyone loved the cake! Very chocolatey and definitely decadent! The unusual part was that The bakery is between locations at the moment and they don 't yet have permits for customers to go into the new location, so I met Amy at a designated time and place for the cake swap. The cake pickup went without a hitch. I was more than satisfied and heartily recommend the 808 Sweet Shack for anyone looking for sweet treats in the Hilo vicinity.
