I was staying at the hospital and a nurse had recommended the Sunday roast. I wasn’t disappointed. I had roast beef with all the trimmings and it was lovely. The beef was lovely and tender, to much for me but I’m not a big meat eater. Veggies were lovely and fresh and roast potatoes nice and crispy. Staff were very attentive and friendly. I will return next time I’m in the area.
This is a real English pub! With more than 300 years of history it has many stories to tell. Highway men drank at this pub. WWI wounded Aussies, from the local hospital, drank at this pub. Royalty visited this pub. It has real history! Close your eyes for a few seconds and you are transported back in time a hundred years. Low ceilings. Cosy sitting areas. Well stocked bar. GREAT FOOD. GREAT SERVICE.... Sunday lunch was excellent! Real pub food! Roast lamb and veg was as good as it gets. Good value for money. THE PEOPLE.... But what makes this pub stand out is the people. Wonderful serving staff. Bar manager was attentive, calm, talking effortlessly to every guest. Every one there was a local. Elderly people in their 80’s having a traditional Sunday roast was a pleasure to see. Listening to the locals was a pleasure. Endless stories. Lots of laughter. These are the real English people you won’t find in any fancy London pub. This is a pub where you are welcome. You feel at home. Children welcome! Just when you think it can’t get any better an “Arthur Daly” lookalike turned up and took over the conversation!!! THE KINGS ARMS IS A GREAT ENGLISH PUB! Worth the visit!
Went for lunch n a beer, beer ok,fish was frozen,if i want frozen fish i would go to a Supermarket,it was disgusting, needless to say i hardly touched it,told the staff, but not even a comment or hint of any deduction for a plate of rubbish,i wont be having that again.
The Kings Arms is a real pub with character. Great place for a laugh , tasty food and friendly staff led by John the guvnor.
