Bidra med feedbackWe did a day trip from Auckland and had lunch here we had curry, and pork belly. I also had a Espresso Martini for a drink. The curry was absolutely delicious, so credit for that, but the roasted pork on the pork dish was unfortunately, a little chewy and overcooked (otherwise, the dish would've been really good, especially with the mashed potato being delicious and good). Also, the espresso Martini wasn't the best coffee Martini that I've had so far had a rather sour flavor, instead of a nice, bittersweet flavor that I anticipated. Overall, the food was good, except for the overcooked pork, and the drink was just OK only not the best, but not a bad drink either.
Furnace was the venue for Derek's Christmas work function. The vegetarians in the group found the set menu of little use for mains. The full menu was not much better. Also, the general atmosphere lacked the Christmas spirit and staff expected a degree of etiquette that seemed at odds with the nature of a Christmas function. However, the lamb, beef and chicken mains were beautiful with nice vegetables. Derek's house red wine was above average. For dessert, I had the deconstructed lemon meringue pie which was delicious and beautiful.
Nice space on busy street of Hamilton. Pub inspired decor and ambience is good. The service was good and very attentive!! The food was good, especially for pub food- The Lemon Meringue Pie was outstanding and the best dessert I've had in NZ thus far!!
Randomly decided to come to this place and they were able to fit us in on a Saturday night during their peak time. Lovely service from our waiter. Lovely atmosphere and good vibes. Food was the best and our steak was perfection.
