Spey Burger - Highland

Booked a table for 8pm, had to wait 20 mins for table to be ready, after we ordered took 40 minutes for food to arrive, only for them to bring us our mains instead of the starters we ordered. Another 20 minutes later our starters finally arrived, main course was brought out reasonably fast after that, however after our mains we asked for a desert menu, we were given one but nobody returned to take our order, eventually i managed to get someone to take our order but it was now past 10pm and we were the only people in the restaurant. Our deserts were brought out and to our disappointment they had managed to get one of the orders wrong. We waited another 10 minutes for this to be changed. After all that, we were offered our drinks for nothing, and seeing as we only got one drink as our first two were “on the house” for our table wait, i found this laughable. Eventually we did get told we weren’t going to have to pay, but as we had now spent 2 and a half hours in the restaurant, the bar had now closed so we weren’t even able to enjoy our last night. Overall very disappointed and ruined the last night of what was a fantastic trip.

It took us a while to find the place as the address on the confirmation email was the wrong one. The food was not worth it at all, my burger was cold (everyone knows what happens when cheese gets cold) and our fries were extremely soggy (see photo as proof of how soggy they were). Nobody came to check on us so we didn't say anything and we ate everything because we were starving. The only highlight was the floor staff. They were very nice and friendly, specially the guy who greet us (I believe his name was Luis, who could speak Spanish).

Service needs to be improved. The workers wearing red tartan were polite and helpful but the table servers just don't care. We asked about the dinner, bed and breakfast deal but he didn't know so said he would ask someone but never returned. Half an hour later I had to ask, only then someone came to take our drink order. We ordered our food at the same time, and received our starters within minutes, before the drinks. Was not impressed with the £9.50 nachos, basically a packet of crisps and a little bit of topping. Our mains were on the table before I even finished the starter. Food was good but I didn't know pulled pork was ment to be served cold on the tacos, (according to the chef) but he microwaved it after we enquired anyway. Half an hour after finishing our mains, I had to ask to order dessert, which then arrived with all the dirty plates still on the table, including a bowl from my childs starter. Overpriced and poor staff means I cannot and will not be recommending this place to anyone. We ate at the Italian restaurant last night in the resort and could not fault one thing so defo book there instead.

Best resturant on the Macdonald Aviemore Resort, and friendly staff allowed us to take the food up to our room. With all inclusive Dinner Bed and Breakfast, the prices come under the alloance, so felt it was very good value for money.

Bar staff seemed they'd rather be else where,as a group of 3 we ordered one nachos and two burgers, my nachos arrived quickly but the burgers took so long to arrive, I had finished my food 20 minuets before the burgers arrived. Food was okay at best. If you're looking to quench your thirst, look else where as the price of drinks are extortionate. Expected more I guess. Disappointed.
