Giovanni's Italian - Highland

Many places in Aviemore were closed. Giovanni's was suggested to us. We were made very welcome. No loud background canned music so we were able to talk easily. The food was exceptionally good and served quickly. all the staff were helpful and very pleasant. The room is bright and airy, did not feel packed in like many other restaurants.

The menu was limited and not all items were available. Issues with allergy information not being properly marked on menu so be careful if you are gf. Seating is uncomfortable so bring a cushion. Everyone was wearing coats and the manager refused to close the windows despite the constant cold breeze. Not the romantic dinner in an Italian restaurant we expected from the MacDonalds hotel chain.

Great fresh food. Friendly staff. Loved it. Great for a family meal. The pizza was delicious. Kids menu is great and very reasonable.

The food was absolutely perfect, the staff were so friendly and accommodating they went over and above. We will definitely be returning. They said service would be slow but food came within 10 minutes!! Brilliant. Special shout-out to the staff member who seated us, Alex F. Kindest and funniest soul, he was great with the kids.

Although I 've enjoyed pizza, the whole experience was not so enjoyable. Visited first time. We were 2nd table in whole restaurant, always feel bit weird but if the deco and staff make it enjoyable you don 't mind. The staff was polite but it felt like the smile is forced and feeling 'I don 't want to be here ' they have never came to check on us even with 3 tables in. I 've asked for water,never received. Had 2 pizza, 2 cocktail, 1 soft drink paid £60, which we would mind its pricey but with customers service it wasn 't worth at all. Won 't be back. Please train your waiting staff to higher Basic standards at least. If you don 't order starter, take away starter cutlery for example. We overheard conversation from next table, customers were trying g to have conversation with the water saying : oh, its quiet today to which response from water was: : oh, I just work here, I 'm not in charge of marketing stuff ..ehh?! What kind of answer is this?? Anyway, just honest opinion and constructive criticism
