Whistle Stop Cafe - High River

chalkboard. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made me feel nostalgic for simpler times. The food was delicious and the pies were a highlight of the meal. It was a delightful experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a taste of the past.

I adore this restaurant! I visited on a Sunday afternoon and ordered the Thai noodle wrap and the soup of the day. Both dishes were incredibly satisfying and delicious. I also enjoyed a root beer.

The only thing that stood out about this restaurant for us was the fact that it was in a train. My husband is a huge fan of trains so he was in his element, but that was about it! We were passing through High River at lunchtime and searched the Trip Advisor app for a place to eat and found the Whistle Stop. The highlight for me was breakfast at lunch, which I will never pass up because I eat off the gluten free menu (of which there was NOT here) so eggs and bacon are pretty safe. The dessert menu was huge and I imagine that's what a lot of people come for :)

Always happy with what i am served. 2 kinds of homemade soup- varies each day. wonderful deserts & endless possibilities for main course. limited seating- reserve? breakfast & lunch only.

It was unique to eat in a train car. Small but cozy restaurant. Good size lunch portions and tasty. The one server worked hard to seat and serve everyone in a friendly and quick manner. If you're not in a rush enjoy lunch at the Whistle Stop.
