The Master Fryer - High Peak

Called today first time, we had fish chips and peas and a cup of tea, the food was excellent, the staff were very friendly, the cod was top quality, it's well worth a visit.

Visited today on a visit back to New Mills. Very friendly and chatty owner who is obviously very proud of his food. And rightly so the cod and chips were the best I have tasted in many years, a light tasty batter and beautifully cooked, melt in your mouth fish. The chips were also excellent. Highly recommended.

Called in when on the way home to Nottingham and glad we did. Lovely chips, and nice to get a steak pudding which we can't get from chippies at home. Tasty food, and a really friendly owner. If you need a good local chippy or one if you are passing, go here.

Owner very rude and unprofessional. Asked him how is business is doing and he replied Well it’s fish and chips isn’t it. I was only being friendly. I asked the same question to his predecessor some years ago he was a very nice chap I think he was Eastern European and we had a great chat and I loved his food. I have never been back since and have no intention going back.

We had the best fish (cod) n chips here since we were in Whitby. Really fresh fish, light crispy batter and cooked to perfection. We plumped for a small fish and for me it was plenty as we chose to have it with chips and mushy peas washed down with a can of dandelion and burdock, delicious. Fast friendly service too.
