Desi fire grill - Hicksville

We searched open table for a Mexican restaurant that was local to us. We saw that this restaurant had one good rating and was in the neighborhood we wanted to Be in. So we made reservations and showed up at the appropriate time. When we arrived it was a very small place and not at a restaurant at all. It was basically a takeout shop much like a pizzeria with no table service and very few tables. We opted not to eat there though the food looked very good and patrons seemed happy. We promptly left for another Mexican restaurant. However this place should definitely be removed from OpenTable. It is a small take out shop of about 1000 ft.² in a shopping center with a large Indian grocery store And many of the small shops. The menu includes Mexican but only a few entrees. Nothing about the listing accurately describes this place.

Great desi rolls at a decent price. Flavor is spot on but there are some days when the bread or paratha used for the roll is stale. You just need to be bold and ask it is made fresh. They are usually honest from my experience.

I waited a long time for my food almost a hour and a half. The curly fries was nice but the chief wasn’t good (new). No disrespect but I’d be ashamed to put out food like that. I’m Indian and I love spices and I love tasty food and I didn’treceive what we call desi at all. Sorry but never again for me. Hire a new chief boss !!! Also the lady at the register is agood employee she really knows how to interact with customers.

Wasn't great. No flavor but nice staff. Hate to bash but it was not my thing. Has potential though.

Foods not bad but could be better. A little more flavor and they'll be solid. Portions are decent somewhat filling. Only thing they can work on is pricing. I ended up spending almost $20 bucks for one person for lunch. I think that's a bit steep for oneperson. If I wanted to spend that kinda money on lunch I'd be the city or something. There's too much competition around themfor the type of food they're serving and to be charging those prices. Overall not bad.
