Bidra med feedbackGreat food in this gorgeous little restaurant. You could easily miss it walking past, but it is worth looking for. We shared a few different dishes and each of them was delicious. Plenty of veggie options and the meat in the meat ones was really good. Reasonably priced and a great selection to choose from. If I was back in Delhi, I would come again
Fresh warm bun, good dog, choice of regular or spicy chili. I like the spicy. Slaw onion. Can't eat just one. I Recommend this place. Good food fast.
It 's About The Slaw Dog Here. As far as I know, this is the first NC location for this West Virginia hot dog chain, and I couldn 't be happier it is so close. The first Sam 's was opened in Huntington, WV in the early '80, now there are probably better than 40 locations mostly in West Virginia and Kentucky, with several in Virginia and Ohio, and at least this one in NC. I have eaten Sam 's hot dogs in WV, KY, VA, and now NC.<br/ <br/ These little stands (many are take out only) specialize in serving the classic West Virginia Slaw Dog. There is as much disagreement about what is the perfect WV slaw dog, and who makes it, as there is about the best BBQ in NC, and who serves it. There are websites blogs devoted to this type of hot dog, dealing with what makes the perfect slaw, etc. More than one disagreement has resulted in more than words being thrown<br/ <br/ These folks serve a very limited menu hot dogs with either mild or hot chili (I 'd go with hot) with topping of ketchup (I know, I know), mustard, onion, and coleslaw; BBQ (I 'd skip this never order seafood in a steak restaurant rule); potato chips; sodas; milkshakes; and at some locations, spaghetti, with their chili as sauce (I 'd go with the hot). That is their entire menu, but it can vary from spot to spot..<br/ <br/ The key to the WV dog is the slaw it must be creamy, with fresh cabbage chopped medium, the right amount of mayo, a little salt, and that 's about it. The wiener must be of decent quality, and the bun soft to the point of gooey. Some folks put both onions and slaw on their dog (the purists believe they will go to hell for this).<br/ <br/ These folks make a very good hot dog, chain or not. The closest one to Greensboro before this one opened in Hickory was in Salem, VA, and another in Waynesboro, VA. The stand in Staunton is strictly drive thru, Waynesboro has a small amount of seating, no drive thru.<br/ <br/ The stand here is one of the small ones, but the dogs are very good. Luckily they open early so we could grab once before heading home.
