Bidra med feedbackI can’t speak highly enough about the woman who did our tasting, and we totally failed at asking her name! (She’s retired military and lives in Jeff City, I hope this helps!! She did an absolutely fabulous overview of not only the wines, took her time talking to us and didn’t rush our tastings, but she also told us the history of the winery and Hermann itself. We walked away feeling like we understood the town better, and with a bigger appreciation for the winery. The wines were great, and the seating outside was extensive. We were worried about it being “one of the big trolley stops” and being crowded with drunk bachelorette partiers. While that may have been the case, if it was, we didn’t even notice. We really enjoyed our time there and talked in detail about coming back with friends and just spending the entire day there.
Fun atmosphere that highlights sweet wines. Nothing serious or complicated to the palate. There pairings are playful and the experience is joyful. You’ll leave with a smile for sure.
Winter review, I'll edit if we ever make it out during the summer.$6 tastings and you keep the glass. The wine was good. Not great, just good. The facility was very spread out. Not really a flow of seating in the winter. It's possible it makes more sense during the summer.
This has always been one of my families favorite places to visit for the great tasting experience. We got to experience their Norton 7 course dinner last night which made my opinion of the winery even higher. The dinner was amazing, the tasting was fantastic, and the people were the best. Parker told such great stories and history. Lee gave such a great explanation of the wines and the property (definitely coming back for an elevated tasting). Chef Alex made an amazing dinner... his mini beef Wellington and chocolate lava cake were over the top.
