Unicoi State Park Lodge - Helen

We had a wonderful stay here this past weekend. The rooms have recently been renovated and are very clean. Updated bathrooms and no carpet! Yay! The beds were very comfortable and service was fantastic. The grounds were absolutly stunning. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the backyard area they have aroung the lodge where there is a nightly bonfire.Things to note if you are elderly or handicapped, you need to request a bottom floor. There are no elevators and it can be a bit of a walk if you are staying in a building other than C. We are a younger couple, so I enjoyed being on a higher floor. However, seeing other reviews, I can see how this would be difficult for some.The shuttle and their driver was awesome. What a convience! This made the stay just that much better that we did not have to fight traffic orpay for parking. The shuttle drops you off at the little county store in town which is central to all the main shops and restaurants. Those of you coming for Oktoberfest will find this to be a plus!We will certainly be staying here for any trips we make to Helen. Great experience. I am sharing a photo of the sunset. Breath taking!

About 150 of us showed up for an outdoor adventure convention here at Unicoi State Park Lodge in Helen last month. Everything seemed to go smoothly for our various events over three days. All accommodations were excellent. My room was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping was above what I would have normally expected. Desk service was friendly and helpful. Everything you need is here in one location. You can even zip line adjacent to the parking lot. If you’ve got a couple extra bucks treat you and your family to a little something special. Very much recommended.

It is an excellent park for long walks with beautiful views around the lake, ideal to spend a whole day with family and friends. the shelters have water, electricity and bathrooms located very close It also has a small beach ideal for children and adults.

Just missed getting to eat at the lodge. The area is very well maintained and tranquil. We loved walking to Anna Ruby waterfall and along a few of the trails in the Park. All the park personnel we encountered were very helpful and friendly. Loved our time here.

We just come here to hike. Gorgeous park, they have tons of hikes that hidden, no direction!!! It is the map , but very limited signs where to go. We was able to find only one trail near visitors center and another 9 is hidden. Very disappointing. Come here to hike and it’s so not organized, why even have that visitor center! Did not see anything here but lake and campground. :
