Kamat Upachar - HBX

I have always been a big fan of Kamat hotels and never miss an opportunity to dine there. While traveling from Pune to Sirsi, I planned on stopping for a meal in Dharwad. To my surprise, the restaurant was closed. We decided to continue our journey and stopped to eat at Kamat Upachar in Hubli instead. Unfortunately, it was already 4 o'clock and only poori was available. The sausages I ordered tasted bitter and awful, making it one of the worst meals I have ever had. The chef seemed to be aware of the issue before I even mentioned it. The manager also appeared to be making a scene, although I'm not sure if it was intentional. The couple sitting next to us ordered some rice but left after their first bite without finishing their meal. It makes me wonder if the owner is aware of these issues, as it reflects poorly on their hotel.

Kamat Upachar Chatra is a vegetarian restaurant located on the bustling Bangalore-Pune highway. Unfortunately, the experience was mediocre at best. There are definitely better options to dine at. The cleanliness and sanitation standards of both the restaurant and restrooms were lacking.

Please do not waste your time and money at this location. The service is terrible, the space is poorly maintained, and there are dirty spoons and spiderwebs around the place. This establishment only survives because of the Kamat name attached to it. People only hope that the Kamat group will take action to improve this place, or else it will tarnish their reputation.

If they travel to bangalore on this autobahn and eat for lunch or breakfast or even coffee, upachar is a place to stop. I have visited this place for years and eating is of good quality, pure (in contrast to some...other autobahn stops) and of excellent taste

This place is good for Veg. The taste is good and I visited couple of times during my stay in Hubli. Try out authentic North Karnataka food here. Its worth the visit.
