Basement 33 - Haymarket

Actually was not in my plan in 1912bar. I went in because my friend got tired, then we refreshed a little. music here was good. I will say about the services. our order came slowly. but it tastes good.

Interesting mix of Japanese restaurant and jazz bar. gourmet eating, good jazz, drinks incl. cocktail for just over $100 for two. great to see where the jazz begins at a reasonable time. will be back.

A jazz diner in which you can hardly hear the jazz (sadly, because I think the music was good), and if you were not a well-known place, you got a very bad service. my starter wasn't even warm, my main course never appeared! They still insisted. I pay for the poor starter. don't even think about going there.

In town for work and wanted a quiet place for a glass of wine and dinner and lucky stumbled apon this place. Let's face it you can't walk past a fusion of Japanese and jazz. : Service is good without being pretentious or in your...face. Food is a nice blend of Japanese and western so you can take anyone here. Somethings work better than others but everything was good to excellent. The Wagyu entrée was outstanding as was the Squid, crispy chicken was interesting but not in the same class. Portions sizes are good. Prices are really good considering the great service and outstanding food quality. Plenty on the menu left to sample I'll be back for sure.

Absolutely loved this restaurant! Was on a trip with my boyfriend in Sydney and came across this restaurant. It looked interesting as you had to go down some stairs to enter it off the main street. The menu was very modern and the presentation supported...this! The food was amazing, I had the pork and loved it- was a dish you would find at an overpriced fine dining restaurant. Made our trip to Sydney memorable and the soft live music was a great accompaniment to the food and service!
