Scoot's Bbq In Gloucester Po - Hayes

Ordered smoked turkey melt with onion rings. The sandwich was large and filling. The turkey was flavorful. The side of onions rings were shoestring breaded onions that you’d put on top of a burger. Cold and bland. We actually laughed that a business would call those onions rings,lol. Hubby ordered the crab melt and hushpuppys. The crab patty was large and was filled with crab and not so much breading which was nice. You could taste the crab more so than the breading which is a plus for sure. Hubby mentioned a couple bites were pure salt, it was as though the mixture wasn’t stirred enough. The hushpuppys were delicious! The place was very busy on a Friday for lunch so we took the available booth- it was dated with a cracked up plastic upholstered bench seat that was not comfortable with shorts. Our table was sticky and dirty and I used napkins to clean it myself- ick. While there I realized that I didn’t see one table cleaned after people had left but I think the reason was because the customers bus their own tables so it’s hard to keep track of whose leaving and coming with the lunch rush. Just an observation.

Brought out of town visitors for lunch on Thursday. As always the food was excellent. Visitors loved it. I'll be back soon.

Came here for Father's Day lunch and it was great. We sat outside, as the weather was AMAZING. Fyi, there is no table service outside, so you just go inside (self serve) when you need a soft drink refill. I didn't mind that, at all, since I tend to drink more while eating. We tried the pork tacos, brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. Everything was VERY good. I also got a side of hush puppies and they're some of the BEST I've EVER had! Wow. Light, crispy and stuffed with corn! Yum! Also enjoyed their banana pudding and peanut butter pies! If you're in the area and craving GOOD BBQ, this is your spot! 5 STARS!

Every beach trip we stop on the way for some bbq. 7 years in a row now, sometimes there and back! They offer gluten free buns too! Their beans are to die for (green and baked) if you find yourself by scoots, you should scoot yourself inside!

Great barbeque but the temperature of the meat could have been warmer.
