CVue Cafe Palm Cove - Haycock Island

How very embarrassing for our friends! We were on a rare and special visit to Cairns. Our, (local) friends chose one of their favourite venues for our coffee and breakfast. Both the coffee and food were great BUT service was execrable. A brusque and unsmiling waitress not only treated us disdainfully but made two errors in our straightforward order. What a shame. We did inform management. Sad.

We had a lovely lunch, $17.50 for fish, chips and a corona. The fish was just amazing. Great food and Great service.

This was our third (or 4th) visit. It is one of our favourites. We love the Barramundi. it was perfectly cooked and as usual beautifully presented. The view of the sea through the palm trees is great too.

We just stopped for coffee during a bike ride, I wanted a cold coffee (like a latte with one sugar frappe'd) but no cream & ice cream, I never know what it's called, so I waffled on trying to describe my choice. The young lady (English a 2nd language) wasn't sure what to get for me so another staff member came & asked me again. I pretty much got what I wanted but not long after the lovely young waitress came to the table with a comp brownie and an apology. I think I should have apologised to her not the other way around, there wasn't really a problem but the way it was handled was very sweet. Well done Cvue!

Interesting fresh food options, always tasty ingredients and well presented. Good menu and staff friendly.
