El Shamuskiao - Havana

The only place that is carefully tailored to serve those who do not participate in the cruel animal species (but who serve them non-vegan/vegetarian dishes, otherwise it would not survive in Havana) Beautiful atmosphere and super nice service. The vegan paella was on site and the burger was a savior... fresh healthy juice also available! Too bad I found this place the day before I left Havana. Even if you are not vegan/vegetarian, you will definitely enjoy this little sky in Havana.

A whole menu full of vegetarian vegan meals very wholesome and filling. A small unpretentious bar/restaurant, just a few short steps from La Plaza Vieja and worth visiting for a number of reasons: a warm welcome; good hearty food for veggies and their meat eating friends; reasonable prices; quirky decor (styled after the owner's tatoo! a small family business (the type that's worth supporting in my opinion and an extensive cocktail menu, that's only 1 CUC between 6 8pm! What could be better than that?!

So wonderful to have great vegan options easily available in Havana. We went here a couple times during our visit. The malanga fritters and paella we had were favorites. The juices were good too. The decor was cute. Highly, highly recommend.
