Papa Ole's Kitchen - Hau‘ula

Been wanting to get loco moco and heard it's good at papa ole's. Gave it a try, and it was indeed tasty! It came with big patties and had 3 eggs. Also got the kalbi mini plate. It came with 3 short ribs which are pretty thick. Tasted under seasoned though. 4/5 stars for loco moco 3/5 stars for kalbi There wasn't a line when I went for lunch. Order is placed at a window. No indoor seating. Only outdoor. Plenty of parking available.

Per other reviews, we called ahead to place our order. Service was friendly and professional. We received a text message that our food was ready, but hit some construction work on the way so we didn't get there until about 10 minutes later. We were attended right away. Their credit card machine had just gone down, but we had cash for situations like this. They had a few tables outside, but we decided to drive home to eat. Our food was still warm and fresh even after the drive. We ordered the pancake supreme (this includes the Mac nut, banana, and I don't remember the last, but I tasted some chocolate in there), the peanut butter rolls, and the palehu ribs. It was absolutely mouthwatering and amazing. Portions were large. We will definitely eat here again next trip.

I hadn't gone to Papa Ole since the pandemic and today I was craving for the Paleu Ribs, it wasn't the same. The meat was tuff and the taste was blend. Also the French fries were reheated kine in the oil. This meal cost me $28.00 plus a 3.9% charge for using a plastic cars. service was very friendly as always. I think the cook is a new one or lost it's touch.
