Hughenden Fish - Hastings

I ordered chips and a hamburger from this restaurant. I can honestly say it was the worst takeout I've ever had. The chips were absolutely terrible; it seemed like they were leftovers from the day before. The burger was completely overcooked, almost burnt, and tasted awful and dry. It doesn't seem like any care or attention was put into the food at all. I will not be ordering from here again.

I ordered two large portions of cod, two orders of chips, onion rings, and a battered sausage. Unfortunately, the batter on the fish was the worst I have ever tasted. It was thin, soggy, and not light and crispy like it should be. The fish itself was very dry. The onion rings and sausage also had terrible, soggy batter. It was a waste of money, as this was my first time ordering from this restaurant and I will never order again. How can a chip shop not know how to make proper batter? We only ended up eating the chips because the rest was so bad. We spent nearly £30 for just the chips. Overall, the experience was really bad.

I have been going to this chip shop for almost two years. I had to step outside briefly because I have chronic rhinitis and was coughing. I reassured the staff that I did not have COVID, but when I returned inside, I overheard the young girl saying she didn't want to catch COVID. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I have decided to not use their services again.

We are a family of 3 wanting a delivery to a local caravan park. Rang to ask if they would deliver, fab service over the phone, polite and friendly. Delivery was perfectly on time with a phone call to say they were nearby. Delicious food, lovely and hot. Highly recommend

The food is good if you can go in and pick it up yourself.... but tonight’s home delivery was diabolical! Ordered 5:45, Estimated delivery 6:45 (thought fair enough it’s Saturday evening) Delivered 7:35 It was just lukewarm and most has gone in the bin as It was not nice to eat and cold before we’d eaten much.... I wish they’d be honest if they’re really busy.... It’s Not fair making people wait that long, it’s a treat for a lot of people as money is tight. I can’t say if it was in an insulated bag as it was only in a paper bag at my front door... it should still be hot as I’ve bought in the shop and driven home and it’s hot without a proper insulated bag... Not good, unfair and no apology!
