Brewers Fayre Windmill - Hastings

Fantastic value breakfast everything you can eat, in the morning personal friendly and helpful. but served in the evening was slow. we ate four days there. Every day we waited for 45 minutes for our meal. day one we followed after 45 minutes and our starter and main course arrived at a tablet! day three, we waited an hour, we followed it and was told that our order was lost. so that they had to take it back. the staff of flooring seemed to work flat. my two sons work in the catering industry, and it seems to me that the workers of the floor did their best management control over the system. was missing. not up to the usual brewers fare standard.

One star because the staff we encountered were very sweet and are clearly overworked. Urine in the play area (which wasn 't addressed by the management during our two hours in the restaurant , despite the height restrictions big kids dominated the play area, making it a bit intimidating for the little ones (and nothing said to parents by the staff paint peeling off the walls, dust in the decorative cubby holes (which is pretty grim considering we 're still in a pandemic and it 's inches away from the table clearly covid cleaning isn 't happening here! , filth and gaffa tape on the ceiling, order came at different times, some orders were just wrong which the overworked staff just shrugged at, took 20mins to queue up and order food. Stale bread served with my starter. Took a photograph of the 'loaded ' nachos... Everything was sticky to the touch. I have pretty low standards, but the whole thing felt a bit like a social experiment, I kept waiting for Ashton Kutcher to jump out, screaming 'punked '. I know it 's cheap, so am not expecting Michelin star standards, but this was grim. I 'll be shocked if we didn 't catch covid during the time we were there...

I planned a surprise for my wife and her dear friend Jean and booked a table for two at this restaurant . Two for one. This offer was not available today. Roast of the day buffet? Not available today. Fish and chips? You guessed it, not available today! Burger and chips? Yes! Overcooked dry burgers, cold chips and upon complaining staff were rude and surly.

Poor and very slow service. Took half an hour for the children's meals to arrive. The Carvery vegetables were lovely but the beef and chicken were tough to eat. The gentleman carving the meat was making a right hash of it. Could definitely do better.

Came in today (9:30 AM). 5 tables were occupied. Took about 7 minutes to be seated. No hello, no nothing, just have you scanned the code? We were shown to our table, waited 13 minutes for our order to be taken considering that the menu is all you can eat English breakfast or continental. Waited 20 minutes for the food to come. Food was good but that was the only good thing about the service today. Quantity of beans was subpar. Asked for more beans, took another 5 minutes only to come with a bowl with 10 more beans. Appalling service!
