I've been coming to this Johnny Gryll's on and off for over 10 years. Never had any issues with their food, except today. This Saturday July 20, 2024, I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak and Cajun Fries for lunch. It was a take out order. WORST Philly and fries I've ever had from them... and I've always counted on their Philly being one of the best in the area. The bread was soggy to the point of barely holding the contents of the Philly together. The fries were not freshly done. Seems like they'd been sitting under a warmer since morning and had become hard, chewy, and barely warm.. I choked down the Philly and threw out more than half the fries. Not sure I'll go back after so many years of good food there. Yes, one star. I go for the food not the service and atmosphere.
First time eating at this location me and my wife came in got some wings and they were pretty good and then while we setting there eating I watch the manager younger guy looks like not far out of highschool himself took the garbage out of the the can in the lobby and I watched him grab someone else's food with the same gloves on that he took the trash out with and then I wasn't hungry anymore. Got to train the younger ones better and get someone older in here with all the younger kids.
My experience was disappointing, and I believe it's due to the restaurant being run by high school students rather than experienced adults who understand customer service. The food quality was less than desirable, and my to-go order was incorrect when I got home. I called the restaurant to inform them, and they agreed to replace the missing item. However, when I asked if they could include something extra as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience of having to make the trip back, they refused. Their policy seemed inflexible, focusing solely on correcting mistakes rather than ensuring customer satisfaction. While mistakes happen, good customer service involves more than just rectifying errors; it's about going above and beyond to make things right. To make matters worse, the teenager in charge refused to provide me with the name and phone number of the owner when I asked, citing privacy policies.
