The George At Wormald Green - Harrogate

The restaurant is very clean and well-maintained, but unfortunately that's where the positive aspects end. I had pre-booked 3 rooms for 5 adults at £80 per room, but we were not allowed to check in until 4:30pm. We arrived an hour early hoping to grab a meal at the George and Carvery, but they had stopped serving at 2:30pm. The landlord wouldn't let us in until exactly 4:30pm, and we had to pay for the rooms immediately. The drinks were pricey and there was no breakfast offered, not even continental. I spoke to the manager who seemed to be aware of the issues but didn't seem concerned. Overall, it was a disappointment and felt more like a B without the B&B experience. Food and drinks were expensive, and the lack of breakfast was a major letdown. The only positive was the cleanliness and maintenance of the place.

This is an amazing place all the staff respect you and your needs are meeted I loved the general design of the place and the location itself I saw when I was finishing my amazing carvery which had lots of flavour I saw a staff member out the George helping an elderly lady Food drinks: The food was one of the greatest meals I have tasted in ages everything had flavour a nice homely flavour it was worth the value thanks Rooms: 4

Large car park and easy access on A59. Went on Over 55's discounted Thursday night. £8.95 for carvery. Choice of turkey and pork. Yorkshire pudding, roast and mashed potatoes, carrots and parsnips, broccoli and green beans. Also option for fish or casserole. A vat of delicious gravy and all sauces you could imagine I.e. horseradish, mint, apple, mustard etc. We then shared a sticky toffee pudding with cream. Absolutely delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Will be back soon. Food drinks: Choice of turkey and pork. Very clean Very efficient and friendly staff. We had Sunday carvery really excellent quality meal. Advice booking on a Sunday, we'll definitely be coming back. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
