Delicias Del Caribe - Harrisonburg

We were in Harrisonburg opposite my son in JMU when we found this little restaurant. To be honest, it doesn't look like the strip-mall in which it is located is quite old. We were hungry and it was cold and as luck it would have, the interior of the restaurant was closed for Covid. We looked at the menu and decided to give it a try, wait about 20 min for our food in our car. The food smells so good that we decided to eat there on the small table in front of the restaurant. To say the food was delicious is an understatement it was so good we forgot how cold and windy it was! The portion size was huge and the price point was excellent, and the taste phenomenal that I cooked for home Puerto Rican foods with kind permission of my mother and I am sure that she would have approved of this meal! Very recommended!

Delicious food. Great service. Nice waitress n chef. The waitress did not speak well English so my bf broke out his Spanish. Get me a free Papaya shake. Guanabana Shake was great. The guisava chivo (goat) was so soft n tender. Bf's roasted pork dish was also amazing. It was not too salty at point n. The food was great. Family-oriented place

If you go to this Dominican restaurant, you will be transported to the island of DR immediately. We arrived a minute after the opening. The pictures on the walls and music through the speakers smile at me. My smile grew bigger than the server greeted us and gave us recommendations and mentioned that his mother was the cook. The food was delicious and well prepared. The kindness and family feeling we received were stellar. I asked from the server if he danced bachata and he did....soooo, when the Salsa music changed in bachata, we danced a bit! It was my birthday and the little staff sang Feliz cumpleaños. Everyone was warm and fun talking, I would recommend eating in this gem of a restaurant.

Really authentic taste of Dominica. 1st generation family owned. Great taste experience!
