Dosa Hut - Harris Park

Great food - we ordered veg platter for starters, veg kolhapuri, paneer masala, roti and veg pulao...food tasted good. Great service. But we were seated right next to the door and the door shuts with a loud bang each time someone enters/exits.

If you can handle a little loud Indian music whilst you are dining then go ahead and try the dosa's here. They were crisp and fresh. However go for the traditional variety like sada or masala dosa and not the new fusion stuff e.g. Egg dosa ( which was soft). We had a good meal under $ 25.

2 is actually for the staff.. I think south indians wont like their dosas as i think they are cooked in north indian style!!! I anyways love both north n south styles.. Dosas were good but cold.. may be they just cook them in advance and reheat before serving but they do taste good.. And with the staff, i just asked if I could sit anywhere in the restaurant as it was almost empty but i was given a RUDE NO telling everything is reserved!!! Its ok to say no but you can be polite.. thats was what was missing!!!

Wanted to try Indian biriyani for lunch and found this place for the first time(Wigram street is full of Restaurent's), thought to try it out. When you enter in feeling or the ambiance is pretty good clean tidy. We were quickly attended by waitress. We ordered two biriyani s for lunch, waitress kindly explained it's on lunch special and with two drinks. For the first time entrees, it was great customer service and kind enough to give the drinks menu that she was keeping for her use as we asked for what are the drinks they have. All in good start. I see lot of bad reviews here out of 23 reviews. But to be honest we had pleasant lunch on. We got our meals fairly soon and the Restaurent was somewhat busy as well for the lunch. Food was pretty good too. Chicken biriyani was well prepared I thought, mutton or could be lamb I got was ok too but it is worth it. (By the way I ordered goat not lamb) we enjoyed guess we will try one more time for dinner to get good experience of service and food. But lunch was pretty good and service too.

Tried the lamb dosa and the chicken biryani - both were pretty average. Service wasn't great, some servers were wonderful and some just weren't. We were told they would not supply a glass of ice for the warm can of drink they gave us. Also, did not receive our entire order and mains came out before entree.
