Zum Rothen Lowen - Hanau

A nice price after a long day. A relaxed, vintage environment with a friendly service. The food was very beautifully presented and cooked. I have salad with oxen. Delicious!

We were one of only three tables when we ate here, but it took more than 20 minutes to get our food. My roulette was burned outside. I would have sent it back to the kitchen, but we were so hungry that we... that which was not burned. A great waste of time and money.

This restaurant is only a block from the Schloss Philippsruhe and was a great deal for lunch. The three course lunch of asparagus soup, sausage entree, and dessert was a special of the day and quite possibly the best meal I had on my entire...two week European vacation as it was very well priced and delicious. The decor was interesting as well since it was old paintings of Hanau sites we had just visited.

My family of 4 adults stopped in here for a Saturday evening meal, and were very satisfied with the experience. It is a warm and charming pub style setting. It was asparagus season so they had a special menu in addition to their regular offerings....They had an english menu available, if you request. The waitstaff all spoke flawless english as well. The cream asparagus soup was delicious, salads were fresh and interesting with an herb dressing, and all the meats were prepared to our liking. The big winners were the park medallions with peppered port and cognac gravy, and the pork chop with mushrooms. The portions were extremely generous so we had no room for dessert. Service was pleasant, but a bit slow and inattentive. Overall a good experience.

This restaurant is excellent. Foods here are the best in Germany. Even schnitzel was not comparable with others. The handsome Owner like George Clooney was so kind to our family. Danke!
