Bidra med feedbackPopped in for a bit of lunch while pottering about the Shepards Bush area, killing time until picking up my daughter. I had a very tasty caramilsed onion, tomato and olive tart, which I've forgotten the name of, but it was very good. A nice hot tea, served in a tall glass and a tasty chocolate eclair. Very reasonably priced. The gentleman who served me was very welcoming and friendly and stopped to chat as I was sketching in my sketch book. It was a lovely relaxing atmosphere and I'll definately be going again if I'm back in the area.
We passed in front of La Brioche on our way to Westfield. We decided to give it a go on the way back and we bought 2 strawberry tarts and 2 slices of a cake with caramelized custard and a kind of almond flavor. They were delicious! Looking to go back and try the mille-feuille!!!
Only stopped off for drinks. Although we did not indulge in any of the cakes, they did look pretty splendid. Drinks were ok and reasonably priced, owner seemed very friendly and made a point of saying goodbye.
After enjoying lunch at the nearby restaurant, we opted to have dessert at La Brioche. The sweets and cakes they offer are delicious and affordably priced. They have a wide variety of options to choose from, and the coffee is also excellent. You can expect to pay half of what you would at a major chain, but the quality of the products here is much superior!
I ordered a wedding cake after seeing some of the pretty and basic cakes in their window and thinking i could get a good price as i was rather broke at the time. BIG MISTAKE the cake was not only terrible and shoddy- zero presentation points to the chef, my child could have done a much better job in fact several of my friends asked me if my child had in fact made it . It also completely fell apart within 2 hours out of the fridge the inside of the sponge was wet and soggy for some bizarre reason . These cowboys charged me £250 total for the cake, i know know that most high end cakes cost this much he assured me at the time this was the best price you could get for such a large cake- ill admit i shouldve done more research . After complaining and showing him the disastroys outcome of the cake falling apart, he didnt apologise, and blames the wetness of the cake on the 'delicious syrup ' they add to their cakes... ! After a long drawn out process including one argument during which i actually saw a mouse running across the restaurant floor, he pretended not to notice it... he only agreed to recompensate me £50. Please never buy a cake here, or anything for that matter.
