Fortino's Cafe - Hamilton

Honestly I make this quick and short, the pizza and the prime rib sandwiches are next level, they are fresh, good ingredients and made to order. They really know what they are doing. The pizza here is Montreal smoked meat and potato , it was fantastic and filling and around $4.50. Highly recommend the prime rib, it is huge! Give them a chance, you’d be surprised, the secret is out.

I know what you’re thinking, a grocery store not named Pusateri’s can’t sell gourmet food and treats. Fortinos has bucked the trend by selling premium pizza, chicken wings, veal sandwiches and more. Food 4.5/5 I’ve tried quite a bit of what they have to offer and enjoyed it all. The pizza is my favourite., try the MTL smoked meat one. Even the bakery section is legit, not my go to for sweets but a good option. Service 4/5 You order from the counter so nothing special. I’ve had to wait a minute or so for an employee to come to the counter a couple times, not a huge deal. Value 4/5 Prices are on par with an Italian bakery but so is the quality.

During my visit with a Canadian friend who lives in Dundas, I got to trek to Tews Falls and part of the Niagara Escarpment one morning. Then, we were ready for lunch. My friend likes Fortino’s Café, so we went there. It was sort of cafeteria style. It was set up with different stations with different foods. One section had BBQ chicken, wings, fries, and deli-type food. There was a section for Thai hot bowls. Sushi was available. Another section had a soup counter with sandwiches. One could ½ a sandwich with soup. A carvery section had a variety of hot entrées and sides. The pizza station had freshly-made pizzas and sold them whole or by the slice. I got a Soup ½ a Sandwich Combo at $7.99 CAD 13% General Sales Provincial Taxes of $1.04 for a total of $9.03 CAD. My friend had a hearty soup with crackers. The service was great. While in Oakville for a skating competition at the event center, my party and I decided to try out Fortino's for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of delicious foods and soups available, all served fresh and at an affordable price. It was the perfect way to end our evening after a long day of skating.
