Bidra med feedbackWe went on a damp miserable day in October 2019 which is probably why we got in in the late afternoon without booking. Otherwise if you wish to avoid disappointment make sure you book ahead. We had drinks, soup and mains with coffee afterwards at a cost of 25 Euros/head. That is not a set meal but a selection from the daily menu. Everything was served hot and as quickly as a freshly prepared dish can be served. The restaurant is on an old boat and the kitchen is on a separate old boat so space is definitely limited. However the food is typical German and delicious. I had the prawn soup followed by a Wiener Schnitzel with veg.
Had a lunch with a large group (50+ , which avtially meant full house. Still on a sunny November Friday there were a lot of people trying to come and enjoy their lunch. Schnitzel, Matjes and house salad all very tasty. Nice service. Credit cards accepted. Would go again.
We can recommend the beer, but even better the fish dishes especially Matjes Hausfrauen Art or Scholle.
Very good restaurant in a wonderful location. If weather is good, try sitting outside by the river to watch the world go by. Have been coming here for over ten years and it has remained consistently good. Only problem is they don't take credit cards, but don't let that put you off.
I was here suggested by a friend who lived in Hamburg for several years. Absolutely the best food I ate during my whole trip to this beautiful city! We ate delicious fishes on the riverside, surrounded by a relaxing nature with the sound of waves : The price was really honest for the meal: 20€ per each for a tuna steak, salad, beer and water (everything x2 persons . Take a break from the city, have a sails to this romantic and charming restaurant!
