Uncommon Grounds - Halifax

This quaint cafe is a gem! The food is delicious, the coffee is top-notch, and they also offer a wide variety of teas. The cozy atmosphere with small individual couches makes it ideal for spending an afternoon working on your laptop or simply unwinding with a cup of coffee.

Coffee is locally roasted and the baristas are top-notch. Got a soy latte and it was so perfectly balanced it didn’t need sugar. My coffee was extra hot, which was lovely on this cold morning. Place is cozy, with a few tables to sit. Music leans on the rock/alt-rock side so perhaps not the most relaxing beats, but great place overall.

Fantastic espresso drinks in a relaxed cozy environment. They stock great baked goods and there tends to be seats available. Friendly service and great music playing makes for a great place to read, study or chat.

I absolutely adore this place! It has the perfect ambiance for a coffee shop in Halifax. The coffee is made from real beans, not powder, the cinnamon rolls are freshly baked, not frozen, and the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing. They offer free wifi, the staff is friendly and charming, and it's a great place to hang out. There is also another location on South Park Street and inside The Public Gardens.

During our vacation to Halifax, my husband and I visited this restaurant with our two dogs on Friday, July 8th. While my husband went inside to get our coffees, I waited outside with our furry companions. To our surprise, the staff warmly welcomed our dogs inside. We had a wonderful coffee break, and as you can see in the photo, Lucia even took a nap. The staff was fantastic, the coffee was delicious, the pastries were yummy, and the atmosphere was fun and friendly. We highly recommend this place!
