Bidra med feedbackLast night we had a great dinner from The Mermaid Eatery. I had the hunter carving with Spätzle. I don't know how they do it. But the meat was so tender that I didn't need a knife to cut it. I will definitely try it again. But there are so many amazing options on the menu. It has to decide. I love it!
We got food out, we didn't sit down. We have fish and chips, fried Halibut and Black Forest cake. The food was delicious, but the portions were surprisingly small. Luckily, I wasn't very hungry, because if I were, I wouldn't be enough for my part. I can't say it was a good value for the price, we paid over $25 per person. But, as I mentioned, it tastes good, and the cake was also very good (not too sweet, with which I usually fight in other places).
Amazing food! Had the Escargot style shells and the Pan-Friend healbutt, also had the Jagerschnitzel with spitzel. Would go back to a heartbeat! Dog-friendly terrace made it an ideal food destination for us!
We stopped on a Friday at 430, the place was quite empty. We came here with 5 adults, 4 children and 1 dog. Service 4/5, we had a Youg Lady help us, she was very friendly and nice. She let us know how we sat that they have no lobster roles available because they ran low on lobster. She didn't know what we asked, but she left and got answers right away. She even brought some water for our dog, she did a good work atmosphere 4/5, the weather was really nice (and we had a dog with us) so we ate outside on the veranda. The landscape was really nice with teh view of the cliff and the water. There was a garbage on the lawn/under the deck side. The restauraunt looks like her in an old house and there is a bathtub in the bathroom that was a little strange, but was very clean. Food 2.5/5, the children liked their meals (fish and chips, chicken fingers and chips, and cheese nachos), but unfortunately the rest of us did not so much. We had 2 orders of seafood fatuccini that were not very good, they had almost no lobster, a few very small scallops and some very small shrimps. It also comes with a strange pink/red color sauce that we do not like and they were not hot at all. We also ordered the pork chops and peache bowls, which was fine, but the pig was overdue and unfortunately only with a few pieces of peaches that were the best part. We had an order of lobster poutin that comes with an orange/red sauce that was not very tasty, the cheese curds were not melted and there were only 4 very small lobsters on it. We ordered a fish burger (just ok) with potato salad (actually very good), and a burger (just ok) with frits (very good). Value 2.5/5, the seafood fatuccini cost $30 but was not where for what you got and what it did. The same woth the lobster poutine at about $15 17 with only 4 tiny lobster pieces. The drinks were also quite expensive, $6.50 for a lousy hard lemonade. Total 3/5, We had high hopes for this nice looking restaurant, but unfortunately we were disappointed. From the 5 adults there were only 1 said they could come back. Maybe we shouldn't have ordered lobsters in them when the server told us they were running low on lobster.
Very nice variety, mixing German food and local seafood specialties. Service seemed a little slow and overwhelmed so hopefully the staff can ramp up a bit better. For food, we had the pork schnitzel (very nice, crispy and flavourful , fish chowder (a little heavy on the potato and needs some salt and hot sauce but the fish is nice , sauerbraten (sauce is good, and lingonberries were a nice touch , and bratwurst (I think it was just breakfast sausages so that was disappointing... . However the kids grilled cheese sandwich was genuinely delicious and we all wanted a bite!
