Cholo's Homestyle Mexican - Haleiwa

I will preface by saying that I prefer authentic Mexican food over white-washed “Mexican” food which is unfortunately the impression I got from this place. The food was fine but lacked real flavor. The rice and beans were bland and my shrimp tacos were mostly lettuce. It’s a cute spot and the drinks look good, but better food can be found in other places.

Nice spot for tacos, burritos enchiladas. Enjoyed my Cadillac Margarita.

Just did drinks and some chips and salsa (unlimited for $3! , but dang it was good. Some of the best salsa I've ever had, we got some to go. Vibe was perfect and location is nestled between local shops making it a great stop as you browse. We'll be back for the salsa alone... Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
