Chandrama Restaurant - Hājo

On our way back from Sualkuchi to Guwahati in December 2016, we decided to have lunch at Chandrama Hotel and Restaurant in Hajo, Kamrup District of Assam, as recommended by many. It is a well-known and possibly the best spot for meals in Hajo. The menu offers a wide variety of options to cater to every customer at a very affordable price. Being situated on the main state highway, it is easy to find. Overall, we had a pleasant stop for lunch and were satisfied with our experience.

This restaurant is a great option for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. It is popular on weekends and the food is always fresh, hot, and affordable. If you're feeling hungry and looking for a place to eat out, definitely give this place a try. Otherwise, you can always drive to Guwahati city for more dining options.

The service at this roadside restaurant was exceptional. Upon arriving as Western tourists, we were treated like royalty by the owner/manager. We were escorted to an upstairs private room with a clean Western-style bathroom, and then invited to dine in their private dining area. The food was excellent and we were continuously served with great Assam hospitality. Despite the high level of service and personal attention, the bill for the four of us was surprisingly affordable. I even requested a business card to recommend the restaurant to others visiting the Temples of Hajo or the Silk Village of Sualkuchi. I highly recommend stopping by Chandrama Restaurant for a delicious meal and outstanding service. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
