Bidra med feedbackWe made a reservation for three, but only one table for two was booked. Table was outside and we'd rather sit inside for a dinner. Dinner was a fix and go. Tasteless and poor. I didn't get any vegetables with the carving that were dry and not delicious. Once we finished, we had to leave. Please visit the restaurant with the same name in Altheim (Roman Pfaff) and you know what to do. We'll never visit you again.
Managed to get a table for 2 in the last minute. Food freshly cooked and service excellently managed by the owner. Sat inside beautiful and cool on a day of 30 degrees, the dining room had some beautiful chapel interiors, although it was... never a chapel. The owner asked if we wanted to take our drinks and go and sit in the Japanese garden. Wow, it was really a sight of pleasure for the eyes, so peaceful and quiet to hear the gentle sounds of water in the Koi fish ponds. Next time we want to stay in one of the rooms and in the evening simply sit with a nice cold bottle of white wine and just relax in the garden.

We had very high expectations regards this restaurant, but everything was disappointing execpt the wine which was very good, and plenty. The food was borring and without any flavour and it was very overpriced.
This restaurant served excellent food and was most welcoming to its guests. All the staff spoke English to some degree and the service was excellent. The gardens were very beautiful and have won various awards. Our stay in Hagnau was only 5 nights and we ate in Der Lowen 4 out of the 5 !! We can truly recommend this restaurant.
