The Anglesey Arms - Gwynedd

On our last day in Anglesey, I was searching for a fantastic dining experience. After seeing good reviews, I booked a table at this pub along with a visit to the castle. Unfortunately, we were left very disappointed. They were unaware of our booking at first, but we decided to wait for a table. Once seated, we were informed that there were only four items available on the menu, with many dishes sold out by 2pm. We waited almost an hour for our food, which was underwhelming. I could have made a better meal with frozen fish and chips from the grocery store. Hopefully, we just caught them on a bad day. The setting was lovely, with a nice view.

We have just returned home with big fat tummies after having Christmas dinner at the Anglesey. The portions were extremely generous and the food was fantastic, especially the beef. The price was amazing for what we got. A great time was had by all. Thank you to all the staff.

Pork belly, risotto and lamb shank. Pork belly ok greasy as deep fried but salad garnish and dressing were nice. Risotto way to claggy, husband said it tasted ok but it looked like a pile of gloop, definately not how risotto should look. Lamb shank was good, jus too overpowering, mash fine, veg was grim I was expecting more then a few juliennes of carrot and swede and a few green beans. Ratatouille? Not with lamb please. Overall not a great experience, didn't even have a descent red wine. I probably won't bother again. Not particularly cheap either restaurant price but not restaurant quality.

Excellent food superb service and very accommodating as it was my sons 18th birthday so keep up the good work . Also a great pint of wrexham lager

The restaurant tried to accommodate us by allowing us to order food right before the kitchen closed. We ordered ham sandwiches and specifically requested no tomatoes if it came with salad. Unfortunately, the sandwiches were served with tomatoes. The staff kindly took them back to the kitchen after we explained the error. However, when the sandwiches were returned, they did not have any salad or coleslaw at all. This was very disappointing.
