Yet another great long weekend at the George the Third. This wasn't the first time my partner and I have stayed here with her little dog Paddy and it wont be the last. Cracking location, friendly helpful staff, lovely food and drink. The rooms are comfy, the views from the estuary rooms are fantastic, especially in autumn. Its so nice that they are very dog friendly. Not a lot to say other that the GT3 is highly recommended!
We came during lunch service (without a reservation) the team were extremely apologetic and told us when they next had availability. We left and came back Service was fantastic very personable, efficient and not overbearing. Food was beautiful all 4 dishes looked, smelt and tasted great. We live in Yorkshire and will be returning to this part of Wales to frequent George the third again
Great place to have some food and drinks to while away an afternoon. Try and get a window seat if you can as the view is fantastic. The beer was good and reasonably priced and the food excellent. We had the BBQ chicken burger, it was tasty and well cooked. The staff kept a bust bar moving well so there was no wait and the whole bar/restaurant/toilet area was kept clean. I wouldn't hesitate to pop back in for food and drink if I was in the area.
Having looked forward to Sunday lunch, booked in advance, on arrival no trace of booking. Fitted in bar area. My partner lovely view of lake myself sat staring at bar window. Ordered fish and chips to find fish would be classed as small fishi in chippy and chips few in number undercooked and not crispy. Ordered lemon cheesecake so tart as inedible. What a shame?
